Elizabeth Buchanan, Founder & President
Meet Elizabeth, she’s the owner and founder of Maid to Shine Cleaning. She started her first cleaning business at age 19 here in Portland OR. Nobody was surprised she started a cleaning business because she says, “When I was a little kid. I’d go into grocery stores and organize all the shelves while my Mom was shopping. So I always had a desire to clean and organize and make things look good.” She launched her second cleaning business, Cleaner Living NW, in 2014 and as you can probably tell by the Google, Facebook and Yelp reviews the company is loved by the community.
When she founded Maid to Shine Cleaning, Elizabeth insisted on using only non-toxic cleaning products for the health of both her clients and her staff. “I was seeking to create a product that would be an effective bacteria & germ remover, de-greaser & odor neutralizer and something that was non-toxic, & hypo-allergenic”, she says. After lots of research, Elizabeth created with the help of a chemist a formulation that satisfied her need to be green without compromising effectiveness.
The result is Nurturals, a 100% naturally derived cleaning concentrate that Maid to Shine Cleaning uses to clean literally everything to sparkly-perfection for their clients, from kitchen counters and bathtubs to carpets and upholstery. And its awesomeness doesn’t stop there: Nurturals is food safe, odor-neutralizing, and can even be used as a eco friednly laundry soap!
Billy Buchanan, Window Cleaning Professional
Billy began cleaning windows with Maid to Shine in 2009 when he married Elizabeth. He found there was a growing demand for high quality window cleaning so began his journey to learn how to not only professionally clean windows, but how to restore them from hard water damage and maintain them properly. He is very good about educating his clients on proper care and restoration techniques of their glass. His desire to be the best, properly trained window cleaning professional in the area led him to many hours of online training as well as months of hands on training with some of the best in the industry! He takes pride in each window cleaning job he performs and it really shows in his work! He enjoys making clients homes a little brighter! A few of Billy’s passions are: Ranching, Rodeo, Angus Cattle, training their 2 border collies, and spending quality time with his wife and family on their ranch in central Oregon.
