“Wow, their staff did an amazing job on our move in clean!! We just bought our 3700 square foot house in Southwest Portland and needed it to be move in ready. My wife has lots of allergies to clean chemicals and scents so we chose this company because their products are non toxic and they were able to accommodate our needs promptly. They did a wonderful job, they vacuumed the insides of the drawers and cupboards and even cleaned the oven and refrigerator. So much attention to detail, even the chandelier looked so much better after we moved in than it did before during the showing. I would recommend this company to anyone in the Portland area!”
“I hired Maid to Shine based on its great reviews and ratings in Angie’s List and I am SO glad I did. I started with a deep clean session ($175) in early August a few days before our home went up for sale and worked with them right on through the sale and closing on Nov. 10 (a little over 3 months). We were relocating out of state and although I had staged our home and done a lot of decluttering and some cleaning myself, I wanted the house to be absolutely spectacular for the realtor’s open house and any showings. I was so happy with the deep clean that I went on to schedule regular cleanings once a week ($95/week). Because we have cats and dogs and both of us work full-time, there is no way we could have kept our large tri-level house spotless every day, and when your house is key-boxed, you never know when a realtor is going to bring someone through. I give Maid to Shine a lot of credit for the fact our home went under contract in about 65 days (average in our price range was over 111 days) because they were so thorough and detail-oriented.”

“Maid to Shine cleaning has been extremely responsive. I chatted with them on the phone and had an appointment to clean approximately a week and a half later. They then found one of their wonderful cleaners that could come by ever few weeks to a month to clean my house. I have two medium-size dogs and a cat; as well as a dog door. She cleans up muddy paw prints, fur, and all the normal dust and debris. She’s wonderful to work with, pleasant to have in the house, and entirely trustworthy when I am not present. I work from home and it has never posed a problem with her cleaning, and we just communicate and move around as needed. The cleanings have gotten faster over time as she is familiar with my house, and having that service monthly is something I look forward.”
“Elizabeth is the owner and my initial contact and Randi was the mainstay of the Maid To Shine team who cleaned our house every week (on some sessions a second team member helped Randi). Elizabeth is so helpful, accommodating, and responsive–I had quite a few last-minute, emergency situations and schedule changes and she never failed to come through and meet our needs. I could send her a quick email from my cell phone and she’d respond within a half hour. I can’t say enough about Randi–she is such a hard worker and really cares about doing a great job for you. We have high ceilings and hard to reach places that get dusty and she never missed a spot in the 3 months she worked for us. The floors never looked better/cleaner. The other nice thing is the non-toxic cleaning materials they use–our home smelled so clean and stayed that way, which wasn’t easy given our 2 big dogs and 3 cats. I wish I had a Maid to Shine cleaning service here in California–they really spoiled us.”

I have hired other services in the past and was especially impressed by four things: first, the manager sent me a list in advance of everything they do, gave me an opportunity to comment (and I sent an e-mail with my specific requests), and then Elizabeth fully communicated my requests to her team in advance. Second, the team arrived promptly, there were no language/communication challenges, they were especially nice and cheerful, and they asked me thoughtful questions about my preferences before starting (they didn’t even charge me for that time). Third, they did an exceptional job deep cleaning – I kept finding little details even a week later that I’d never seen another cleaning team tackle. And fourth, they sent me a follow-up thank-you card for my business. I feel like I’m getting great value for the money and I intend to use them twice per month because they did such a good job at a fair price. In fact, I interviewed one other cleaner (also recommended on Angie’s list) who toured my house and then quoted me DOUBLE what Maid to Shine charged for the initial cleaning.”
